Hugs and Kisses

Includes three patterns for a bonnet, scarf and mittens, knitted using two 4 ply Alpaca yarns.

The stitch used is a simple yet extremely effective slip stitch which has the appearance of kisses. All three pieces are multi sized and include a fitting for 11-13 year olds.

The Dutch bonnet was an extremely popular style of head wear in the late 40s and early 50s.

Materials

Du Store Alpakka Babysilk (80% alpaca, 20% silk) yarn
(133m per 50gm ball) - this is a 4 ply (fingering weight)
Main Colour - shade 313 - 4 (5, 5) balls for set
[2 (3, 3) balls for scarf, 1 ball each for gloves and bonnet]

Garn Studios Drops Alpaca (100% alpaca) yarn
(180 m / 200 yds per 50 gm ball)
Contrast Colour - shade 1101 - 3 balls
(Just over 1 ball for hat and also for scarf, under 1 ball for mitts)

1 pair 3.75 mm (US 5) straight needles
1 pair 3.25 mm (US 4) straight needles
3.25 mm (US 4) circular needle
Set of 3.75 mm (US 5) double pointed needles (dpns)
2 x 3.25 mm (US 4) double pointed needles (dpns)
