Pattern

Front

Cast on 102 (108, 114, 120, 126, 132) sts using 3.25mm (US #4) needles.
Row 1: *K3 P3 repeat from * to end
Row 2: *P3 K3 repeat from * to end
Repeat these two rows until work measure 7cm (2.25 inches).

Change to 3.75mm (US #5) needles

Next Row: Increase 5 (6,7,8,9,10) stitches evenly over next row 107 (114, 121, 128, 135, 142 sts)

Continue in pattern as follows: (7 sts repeat + 2sts)

Row 1 (RS): P2* YON, SL1, K1, PSSO, K1, K2tog, YRN, P2 repeat from * to end
Row 2: *K2, P5 repeat from * to last 2sts, K2.
Row 3: P2*, K1, YON, SL1, K2tog, PSSO, YON, K1, P2 repeat from * to end
Row 4: As row 2

Continue in pattern until work measures 28 (28, 30, 32, 34, 36) cm

Shape Armholes

Cast off 10 sts at beginning of next two rows. 87 (94, 101, 108, 115, 122) sts.
Keeping pattern correct decrease one stitch at each end of next nine rows. 69 (76, 83, 90, 97, 104) sts.
And then on following three alternate rows 63 (70, 77, 84, 91, 98) sts.
Work straight until work measures 31 (31, 31, 33, 35, 35) cm from cast on edge ending on wrong side.

Divide for Neck

Pattern 21 (24, 24, 25, 30, 32) sts and leave remaining stitches on a spare needle.
Work on first set of stitches.
**Decrease one stitch at neck edge on next and every following alternate row until 9sts remain. Work straight until the garment measures 45 (47, 47, 49, 51, 53) cm (17.5, 18.5, 18.5, 19.25, 20, 21) inches. Leave on spare needle. **

With right side facing, rejoin yarn to work with right side facing. Cast off center 21 (22, 29, 31, 31, 34) sts, pattern to end. Complete as given for first side from ** to **

Back

Work as for front.

Finishing

Using three needle bind off technique (See useful information), join shoulders.
Sew up side seams.

Crochet Edging

Starting at left shoulder and with RS facing join yarn to edge of neckline. *Chain 3, miss 2 sts., slipstitch into next st. Repeat from * around neckline. Repeat around armholes commencing at underarm seam.

Darn in all ends. Press lightly through a damp cloth.
