Delilah

Materials

Delilah 3mm crochet hook
25gm ball Filatura di Crosa Night (we used gold)
1 pair sterling silver ear wires
2 small plastic rings*
sewing needle

* I used the little mirror sequins that you can sew or stick on clothes. I took two of them apart and there is a small plastic ring inside perfect for this project.

Tension

Not critical, just maintain an even tension for both earrings.

Abbreviations

US crochet terms are shown in brackets, in red.

ss - slip stitch
ch - chain
htr (hdc) - half treble (half double crochet)
dc (sc) - double crochet (single crochet)

 

Pattern

Row 1: Join thread into ring with a ss, wk htr (hdc) into ring until ring is completely covered. Join with a ss

Row 2: ch 1,(for first st) wk a htr (hdc) into each htr (hdc) all around the ring join with a ss

Row 3: ch 1, wk I htr (hdc) into the next 9 htr (hdc) turn

Row 4: ch 1. Wk 1 htr (hdc) into the next 9htr (hdc) turn

Work the next two rows loosely so they can be pulled into shape on completion.

Row 5: *ch 4 miss 1 htr (hdc) work 1 dc into next htr (hdc) , Rep from * until 4 loops are made, ch 4 wk 1 dc (sc) into last htr. (hdc) (5 loops made)

Row 6: *ch 5, wk I dc (sc) into last dc, rep from * until 4 loops are made. Ch 5 work 1 dc (sc) into last dc. (sc) (5 loops made) Fasten off.

Darn in loose ends. Pull to shape. Sew ear wire to top of earring.
