Design Story

Just look at my little girl, do you need more inspiration? I don't. As little as she is, she knows what she wants, just like her mom. She came one day with this yarn in her hand and just said; mom, knit me (keep in mind at that moment she was only 2 years old). She trained me well so I knitted this sleeveless cardigan, just with a bit of lace in it. I wanted it to be easy enough for starting lace knitters, so any mom can make it for their little ones. If there is a bit of lace involved I always like a crochet finishing. Just look at the little chart and anyone can make this finishing. Because she's all the inspiration I'll ever need I named this design after her. So enjoy making Mare.

Materials

Lammy Yarns Superwash 4 (100% wool; 137yd/125m per 50g skein)
2 (3, 3, 4, 4) skeins in orange, shade 041 (MC)1 (1, 1, 2, 2) skeins in red, shade 795 (CC)
Yarn can be substituted with any yarn that gives the correct tension.

1 3mm (US D-3) crochet hook

Tension

21 sts x 28 rows = 10 cm (4inches) in stocking stitch.

Pattern notes

Three needle bind off

Hold both pieces of knitting with right sides together.
Insert needle into first st on front needle and first st on back needle, and knit them together. *Repeat this for the next st on the front and back needles. Draw the first st worked over the second st.
*Repeat from * to * until all sts have been bound off. Break yarn and draw through remaining st.
