Pattern notes

When knitting this boob tube on a circular needle you will have no seams at all. If you prefer to knit on a pair of straight needles knit in one piece with an extra stitch at each end of work for seaming. Sew together with mattress stitch.

Please Note: that garment will measure about 6 cm (2.5 inches) shorter when worn, as garment will stretch

Pattern

Cast on 120 (128, 136, 144, 152, 160) sts, with 4mm (US #6) needles. Join into the round ensuring cast on is not twisted. Place a marker between first and last sts of the round.

Next and every foll round: *K4, P4, rep from * to end of round.
Work in pattern until garment measures 54 (54, 56, 56, 58, 58) cm (21, 21, 22, 22, 23, 23 inches).

Cast off very loosely so that edge stays elastic.

Making up

Darn in all loose ends.

If you prefer a little more 'support' for your boob tube work a cord as follows:
With a 3mm (US #1) crochet hook, work 120 cm (47 inches) in chain stitch. Starting at centre front, and one row down from top, thread cord through every 4th st., round top of garment to meet at front.

Tie a knot at each end of cord and fasten when worn. Beads can be added to the cord for decoration.

For a folded over look, thread cord about 8cm (3 inches) down from the top edge as above. Tie ends together and fold top of garment over.
