Materials
Debbie Bliss Rialto (100% merino wool) 50gm = 105 metres approx.
2 x 50gm balls, shade 23015
1 pair size 4mm needles (US #6)

Pattern
Cast on 18sts using 4mm (US #6) needles.
Knit 2 rows.
Row 1 (WS): K3, *(K1, M1, K1) into next st., P3 tog; rep from * to last 3 sts., K3.
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: K3, *P3tog, (K1, M1, K1) into next st., rep from * to last 3 sts., K3.
Row 4: Knit.
These 4 rows form pattern. Repeat until work measures 14 inches (35.5cm), ending with a WS row.
Next and every alt row, inc 1 st at either end of row until 38 sts., Work 1 row.
Continue without further shaping until a further 12 inches (30 cm) have been worked from end of shaping, ending with a WS row.
Next and every alt row, dec 1 st at either end of row until 20 sts. Work 1 row.
Decrease one stitch at commencement of next row only (19 sts).
Continue without shaping for a further 14 inches (35.5 cm).
Next row: Purl
Next row: Knit.
Cast off.
Making Up
Darn in all ends. Place around wearer's head and tie ends into a knot. Tuck ends inside turban as shown. Either sew in place or re-tie each time worn.
