Materials

UK Alpaca Luxury Alpaca Hand Knit Yarn (Double Knit/Worsted yarn 100g)
70% Fine UK Alpaca /30% Blueface Leicester wool

6 x 100gm balls

1 pair 4.5mm (US #7) needles
2 cable needles
1 hook and eye

Tension

23sts x 26 rows =10cm using 4.5mm needles over rib pattern.

Abbreviations

C9X - Slip next 3sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, slip following 3sts onto 2 nd cable needle and hold at front of work, knit next 3sts from left hand needle, knit the 3sts from cable needle at front of work, then the 3sts from cable needle at back.

Pattern Notes

Rib pattern (worked over 17sts)

Row 1: (k4, p2, k9, p2) rep to end.
Row 2: (k2, p9, k2, p4) rep to end.

These two rows form basic rib pattern used throughout.

Back (knitted sideways)

Using 4.5mm (US #7) needles, cast on 51sts.
Row 1(RS): (k4, p2, k9, p2) rep to end.
Row 2: (k2, p9, k2, p4) rep to end.
Repeat these two rows once more.
On the next and foll two alt rows increase 1 st at end of row, working increases into pattern. (54sts)
Work 1 row.
Work next row, and before turning, cast on 52sts. (106sts).
Next row: (p4, k2, p9, k2) rep to last 4 sts., p4.
Next row: (k4, p2, k9, p2) rep to last 4 sts., k4.
Continue repeating the last two rows until work measures 38 (45) cm from beginning ending with a WS row.
Next row: Cast off 52sts. (54 sts remaining).
On next and foll 2 alt rows dec 1 st at end of row. Work 4 rows without shaping. Cast off rem sts.

Left Front (knitted upwards)

Using 4.5mm (US #7) needles, cast on 72 (89) sts.
Next row (RS): (k4, p2, k9, p2) rep to last 4sts, k4.
Next row: (p4, k2, p9, k2) rep to last 4sts, p4.

Rep these last two rows until work measures 23cm, ending with a WS row.

Shape armhole

Next row: Maintaining pattern, cast off 4sts at beg of row.
Work 1 row.
On next and foll 2 alt rows dec 1 st at beg of row. 65 (82sts).
Continue without further shaping until work measures 46cm from cast on, ending with a WS row.
Next row: Cast off.

Right front Lower Panel (worked upwards)

Using 4.5mm (US #7) needles, cast on 49 (66) sts.
Next row (WS): (p4, k2, p9, k2) rep to last 15sts, p4, k2, p9.
Next row: k9, p2, k4 (p2, k9, p2, k4) rep to end.
These two rows set pattern. Continue without shaping until work measures 23cm, ending with a RS row.

Shape armhole

Next row: Maintaining pattern, cast off 4sts at beg of row.
Next row: Cast off.

Right front Upper Panel

(worked sideways)
Using 4.5mm (US #7) needles, cast on 72sts.
Next row (RS): (k4, p2, k9, p2) rep to last 4sts., k4.
Next row: (p4, k2, p9, k2) rep to last 4sts., p4.
Rep these two rows a further 6 times.

Row 1(RS): (k4, p2, C9X, p2) rep to last 4sts., k4
Row 2: (p4, k2, p9, k2) rep to last 4sts., p4.
Row 3 (RS): (k4, p2, k9, p2) rep to last 4sts., k4.
Row 4: (p4, k2, p9, k2) rep to last 4sts., p4.
Rep rows 3 and 4, 12 times.
These 28 rows form pattern, rep all 28 rows a further 6 times, then to row 8 only once.

Shape armhole

With RS facing and maintaining pattern, cast off 52sts. (20sts remaining).
On next and foll 2 alt rows dec 1 st at end of row. Cast off rem sts.

Sleeves (Make two)

Using 4.5mm (US #7) needles, cast on 72sts.
Next row (RS): (k4, p2, k9, p2) rep to last 4sts., k4.
Next row: (p4, k2, p9, k2) rep to last 4sts, p4.

These 2 rows set pattern. AT SAME TIME increase one st at each end of every 6 th row until 102sts
working increases into pattern. Continue without shaping until sleeve measures 45cm.

Schematic

Armhole shaping

Cast off 6sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 1 st at each end of next 9 rows.
Work 1 row.
Cast off rem 72sts.

Making Up

Darn in all ends. Block pieces.
Join upper and lower right front panels together commencing at armhole.
Sew shoulder seams.
Insert sleeves.
Sew sleeve and side seams together.
Attach hook and eye to underside of right upper panel and corresponding top edge of left front.
